Terms & Conditions

1) Promoter

The promoter is 4th East Grinstead Scouts (the “Promoter”).

2) Event details

• Event: Easter Treasure Hunt (self-guided walking trail)
• Location: East Grinstead town centre
• Event dates: 28th March to 12th April 2026 (inclusive)
• Entry fee: £5 per entry (paid via the official Stripe payment link)

3) The prize

The prize is a £100 Amazon.co.uk Gift Voucher, provided by Meridian Edge Ltd. The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

4) Sponsors / offers

With thanks to:

• Meridian Edge Ltd (meridianedge.co.uk) — providing the £100 Amazon voucher prize.
• Mad Dog Coffee (maddogcoffeelounge.co.uk) — offering a 10% discount to participants out on the hunt (subject to their own terms and availability).

5) How to enter the prize draw

To be included in the prize draw you must:

• Purchase an entry via the official Stripe payment link during the event period.
• Receive a unique entry code by email after payment.
• Complete the treasure hunt and obtain the final codeword.
• Submit your entry via the official online prize entry form (linked from the end of the hunt), providing:
  • your name,
  • the email address used at checkout,
  • your unique entry code, and
  • the final codeword.

Entries that are incomplete, late, duplicate, or suspected to be fraudulent may be disqualified at the Promoter’s discretion.

6) Eligibility

• Open to UK residents.
• Under 18s must have permission from a parent/guardian and be accompanied by a responsible adult while completing the route.
• The Promoter’s organisers/administrators of this event may be excluded from winning the prize.

7) Closing date

Prize draw entries must be submitted by 22:00 on 12th April 2026. Entries submitted after this time will not be included.

8) Winner selection & notification

• The winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries that have supplied a valid unique entry code and the correct final codeword.
• The draw will take place within 7 days of the closing date.
• The winner will be contacted using the email address provided on the prize entry form and/or the email used at checkout.
• If the winner does not respond within 14 days of first contact, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

9) Safety & liability

The treasure hunt takes place on public pavements and roads in East Grinstead town centre. Participants are responsible for their own safety and the safety of those in their care at all times.

• Please follow the Highway Code, use designated pedestrian crossings, and remain aware of your surroundings.
• Children must be supervised by a responsible adult throughout the trail.
• The hunt is self-guided and undertaken entirely at your own risk.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, 4th East Grinstead Scouts, its volunteers, and its representatives accept no liability for any personal injury, loss, or damage howsoever caused during or in connection with participation in the treasure hunt.

10) Data protection

The Promoter will collect and use personal information (such as name and email address) solely for the purposes of: administering entries, validating eligibility, contacting the winner, and maintaining an audit trail for the prize draw.

Personal data will be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the administration of the draw and will then be deleted.

11) General

• The Promoter’s decision is final in all matters relating to the event and prize draw.
• The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions or withdraw the event if necessary (for example due to safety concerns or circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control).
• By purchasing an entry and/or participating in the treasure hunt, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
